Finding a G4KC

I know you guys are all about the Beta...

I'm trying to find a blown/grenaded G4KC (2.4L Theta) in Southern California. The 20 or so junkyards I've called don't keep tabs on what cars they have in the yard, so where's one supposed to find a motor?!

well, look at this way..wait for a few sonata's to be wrecked then they'll show up in the junkyards..

but newer type car's like that tend to end up in recycling center's where they won't let you in the yard and they'll charge alot for an engine..

Are the 2.4L Theta's really that new? I know that Kia is just now using them in the Optimas, but is the engine new?

Wikipedia says the Theta 2.4L debuted in the 05 Sonatas. As for Kia, the 01 and up Optimas should have them as well.
