Default engie cutting off at 100MPH

i raced tonight and for some reason..the car won't go past 100mph..
the car was hesitating almost as if it was out of fuel..the speedo needle went back and forth between 98-100 MPH.

i was in 5th gear and 100 was all i could go..

is it a problem in fuel?
is the beta not getting enough fuel at high speeds?

if it's a fuel problem..what's a solution?
bigger injectors..Walbro 255H fuel Pump?

could it have sometrhing to do with the fact that betaswap LC's run Lean?

i don't get it..
caranddriver.com tested a 2003 accent gt witha 1.6L and say's top speed is 115MPH..so what gives?

beta injectors..the beigeish white ones
NOTE:the exhaust backfires like it's misfiring when this occurs..a stutter if you will.
but the engine never misfired..

after posting this, i put in new NGK copper plugs, polished the spark plug wire contacts
used CRC MAF cleaner for the MAP sensor
and emptied the catch can "2 inche's of oil"

strangly no CEL..
i don't get it..ryan went past 100MPH with no problems..
he's running the same configuration's i am..beta II on alpha II ECM
same with Ben..so WTH!?

I happen to know his accent can do 115ish... that or he had a rope attached to the car in front of him

Suprised the ECM is not throwing a cel if its missing...

You still have the accent trans right? When does 4th run out? If you can get 100 in 4th does it change anything?

Maybe someone switched your ecm for a chevy, lol.

well..it turn's out that the suspect in my quest for speed was

Fouled Bosch Platinums Plugs.
They Cried Mommy when i hit 100MPH.XDXD

the tip's looked like it'd been bathed in powder because i've never seen a plug nuked that bad..one was corroded around it's porcelain core..gaddamn Germans!!

right after i put my Factory gapped to .44 "by me" spankin new NGK Copper plug's in..
the car sped like a ferrari right past 115MPH..i could've gone more but the fact that one of my weathertech window visor's came off and I was running on skinny $15 a piece 175/70/13 Sigma Tempest tires on 13 inch rim's "one crooked" during high speed testing..i was forced to slow and and make a u-turn, retrace my step's and find the fallen weather visor on the right shoulder "intact"..with minor scratche's..but since it's made of acrylic..it'll buff out.."12 grade shop class."

i laughed my *** off whe the visor came off..it sounded like a KACHRAK!!

i'm so glad i found the problem..now i can kill all the entry level tuned compact's at the local import scene

i'll feel more confident when i get some konig Minuz rims running on 195/15/R15's Falken ZE52's.

i found a crack in my fuel rail once. it didn't leak, but it created turbulence in the rail cause my fuel to bog down a bit at high speeds. fixing that was the first mod i ever did to any care ever.

your first mistake was buying Bosch Platinums.

what is wrong with a K&N filter??? i thought they were good???? I also agree the copper plugs are great, just as much as the ngk iridium plugs, good catch on fixing your problem.

The speed limiter on the LC is around 105, give or take. It may cut off earlier or later depending of the reed switch pulses.
