Default Purchased a beta 1

Ppl, I decided to go beta so,I purchased a beta 1 engine for my LC with the wiring harness(engine) and the ecu as well. Did I make a mistake purchasing the beta1? What do I need to get started? I assume it is the same procedure as putting a beta2 with it's harness (if you want to use the beta2 ecu).
Oh, I'm keeping my tranny,.

Help please.

it is the same procedure. did u get the 1.8 or 2.0 beta 1? beta 2 has map and maf options and the additional cvvt (which u dont want for the swap due to wiring bugs).

It's a 2.0 beta 1 engine. I don't care about the cvvt but where is the map option there? The ecu is map based but I can't see any holes or any map sensor there.

if ur alpha was map based then ur fine.

but the map sensor resides in the center on the intake manifold on the beta motor. its a t shaped sensor with two screws holding it in.

In beta 1 there is nothing like this at the front or at the rear! And my alpha is maf based. But I don't think this has anything to do with the engine because I'm switching the whole engine harness... right? I have a map sensor tho..

if there is nothing like that on the beta, then it came out of a maf based car. if u wanted to use the alpha harness and ecu u already have, u can instead of converting to map.

double check to make sure the harness and ecu for the beta matches that motor. If u have an map based ecu and harness then its not for that motor. you would have to buy an intake manifold from a map based beta (beta 1 or 2 will work)

I can use an external map sensor that's not a problem. The only thing that bothers me is this: Is the engine harness connecting somewhere inside the car's harness? Or it goes from the engine to the ecu and that's it? It must be connected somewhere in the chassis harness.

So I guess the engine is from the US and the ecu is european or sth? It also has a stupid immobilizer system and I know that this sh!t will give me a lot of trouble. I was thinking about buying a beta 1 ecu from US and the MAF as well. Also, i'd like to mention that tha alpha ecu (LC alpha ecu) is completely different from the beta1 (j2 harness and ecu)
