Default The Alpha Gearbox Solutions

What gearbox to use for High Power (Tubro/Supercharged) Alpha Motor cos the standerd Alpha Gearbox Cannot take the punishment.

The Only Logical Answer i have heard to Far is a 1800/2000 Tiburon Gearbox.

1) It has Similar Ratio
2) Its 100% Hyundai
3) It Must Be stronger?
4) There is a LSD/Phantom Grip avalible for it.

Now what do you guys say?

And who said the Accent GT/Scoupe GT is a Superb Gearbox is this true Or Bs?

So what should i do have mine Rebuilt or put in a beta 2 Tranny?

There are so many Topis on HP.com about this but a Solid answer has never been given hence the question is constanly asked!

Why not put the beta tranny there? I have '02 Elantra box working fine here.

You'll get shorter first gear which is nice to get scoupe up and go and longer fifth gear allow more top speed.

don't use phanton grip junk, use Quaife ATB, it's real LSD.

Why not test B&M Short shifter and Fidanza 'Flywheel too when you have beta tranny coming along?

Default Alpha

Alpha G box is 100% Hyundai but week.......

Anyway Eyelid,

Was your motivation to put on a beta gearbox purely cos you couldnt find a Alpha GT box or because it was so crappy?

But if the Alpha is so Crappy why does http://www.performancestylingcentre.com.au/ sell street racing and HEavy Duty Drag Clucths for the alpha?

My Car is Going away in a Few Hours and they gonna ask me.

What Gearbox do i want now. They are Keen on just putting in a New Alpha Box and a Button Clutch..

Come on guys what should i do? if i put the Beta Box in i will do a Photo By Photo Layout so we can see how its done step by step then put a end to this discussion

*************** Some on sent me this email cant remeber who************

I am using 2.0 Beta Tranny from Hyundai Elantra'02. The ratios are almost
same, but little longer, not that much though.

It's one hell of a job to custom work 2.0 Beta tranny to Scoupe and you have
to make custom parts there and find suitable clutch. I am using Mitsubishi
Galant 2.0 Clutch at the moment but I am replacing it 3-way cinter type
clutch soon. Gear change is horrible right now. You do a lot of miss to 4th
when you try to change 2nd gear..Have to check that and try to improve
changing.

Not actually a big deal having beta tranny but I destroyed my original box
so I had to find new one.

It was me who emailed you.

I made solutions to problems and Now I am running Spec Stage 3 clutch from Mitsu Galant GTi and everything works fine for me.

My motivation to put beta there was because alpha tranny destroyed in fast shift @7000rpm and it was impossible to repair it. like blowing up your car with a dynamite and then mmmm just "repair" it.

if you can do fine with alpha tranny, then that's ok I am not complaining.

I am just recommending to put beta because it's easier to find performance parts for it like Quaife and Fidanza and even shorter final gear ratio from k-spec if you feel you need it to get even better acceleration.
