Why everything tunrs bad on me??? Why? I'm swapping a beta1 into my accent and I wish I never been born..
1st. The beta1 harness is completely different
2nd. The beta1 ecu is compmletely different in europe like the one is the US. It is some sort of siemens ecu with 2 lines of pins , while webtech says 3 lines of pins!
3rd the beta 1 in europe is map
and 4th and the best ! IT has a f****ing immobilizer system!
What is this now? God says: No you won't put a beta in there?
I'm really pissed and my final solution before I trash the car is to cut every single sensor from my existing ecu and rewire all the sensors from the beta1 harness.. then? I'll try to use the 1.6ecu and see what happens! But I definately know that this won't work as my luck has given up to me for a long time now... 1.3T broken, 1.5T, the same..
Anyway this is more like a flame but I'm posting it here so you beta swappers can help me. The whole idea is to cut everything from my existing harness and rewire EVERYTHING from the beta1 harness.
Suggestions? I'm going to push the car to a downhill and watch it burn!

Dont give up on it man. Your idea actually might work. It is basically what I have done to swap my car.
Remember: the 1.6 ecm is map, you might need a beta intake manifold with a map, and youl need to use the alpha crank sensor. Dont rewire that sensor.
Ask more ?s if you need help.

Yeah that's my last option though, but I might find european service manuals on monday for both of the cars and maybe if I get lucky, I will send that ecu to some programmer to see if he can disable the immo. I guess he can and I've heard that this is possible. Otherwise, 1.6 map ecu , lots of rewiring ,which might cause loss of voltage - not much - but will be. The wiring harnesses must be intact without rewiring sh!t. Anyway I'll post up again on Monday to see what my mechanic found...
Can you help me with the engine mount please?

should've bought a beta II but i guess that's even rare in greece.
if you had a haynes manual on elantra's..it'd help alot.
the best thing is to run on the accent ECU, but your is for the original alpha..
the setting parameter's would be completly different if it were t run the beta I
if only you had a beta II

Japakos, if i remeber correctly, if you do not want to deal with such a hardcore job, you should really really buy a beta 2 with LC alpha 1.6 dohc wiring harness.
Almost plug & play wires job (if not 100% p&p).
Only mounts to do (or you can also buy LC 1.6 dohc mounts).
Above is true if you got LC (looks like from your photo).
Dont give up. Someone is climbing on Everest, another one is beta swaping
btw. from which year is your beta 1 ecu?
If this is true that ecu/wiring in x3/ lantra/coupe is different in Europe than in States, than we are f4cked up. 2 lines?
Good bye beta swap dreams.
Thats ecu +immobilizer + key from 1999 coupe 1.6
Not good photo but looks like to 2 pin lines.
$hit $hit $hit
I'm going to drunk myself.
I thing - I SAW ONE X3 beta swaped (2.0) in Germany.
So it is possible. But we dont have webtech europe.
There is no way and I mean NOWAY to find a beta2 here. It's freaking impossible and if I could find one I'd be paying 2500 USD. So, I am stuck with the beta1 and it's stupid ecu with the stupid immobilizer system. I hope that someone here can unlock the ecu otherwise I'm really screwed and I don't know what to do.

That's it.. I'm gonna cut my harness and rewire every sensor of the beta 1 there, and use tha 1.6 ecu for now with my emanage. Is there any problem that my 1.5 was maf and the 1.6 ecu is map? I'm going to rewire the maf to map sensor as I did before.
