Default Rd Tibby Swap

1997 tiburon FX
2.0l
4cyl
5 spd

my engine is messing up real bad now, making funky sunds and shit....because of this i want to buy a complete swap from a prelude and swap it into my tiburon making it VTEC. im just wondering what u guys think about it. reason why i pick the VTEC prelude engine over the 4g63t is because the 4g63t is awd and prelude is fwd, so there would be less custom work

The 4G63t has FWD trannies available too, and is about 50 times better than the Prelude's VTEC. The Prelude's engine is also on the wrong side of the engine bay, making it much more difficult.

Anything's possible with enough time and money, but that's not much gain for a lot of trouble compared to other options you could choose.

yea i guess ur right, i looked at some pictures and all hondas have the engine on the right side of the bay, whereas my tib has the engine on the left side, i will look into a 4g63t with a fwd tranny

looks is not really a major thing. it can look the same and be completly differently wired. i would keep it simple and just put another 2.0 beta in there.

if you are looking for more power, just use your money, that you would have had to use to customize a different engine to fit into your tibby, and buy a turbo.

please dont put a honda or toyota engine into a hyundai!

i agree this thread has to be a joke. Seems we have more and more newbies comming on here looking to swap to "honda". IF that is the case than just trade your tiburon in and go be a honda riceboy. As others stated go turbo or 4g63t, that is the only two option you should really be considering, honestly.

Default Legend..

A Honda is a Gewd Car but a Turbo hyundai is a Great Car.

Recon engine/drop compression put on a nice turbo and you will kick ass/ be a legend, if you want a honda by a honda and drop a Spoon in it.

either way you gonna spend cash, last time a Whipped a e46 m3 the guy said, OMG its a Hyundai(priceless)
