Default 2000 Accent 1.5: Replaceing engine?

My engine is dead (nearly) and I want to replace it with another used one. I have found a used enigne with 17K miles for $745.

Just curiose how difficult it would be remove the old engine and replace it with the same engine. This would be a DIY project.

Has anyone done this and is there a How to write on this?

Thanks for your input.

I've never taken one out so I was hoping there were some instruction posted somewhere. I just want to remove the engine and not the tranny.

Dude its plug and play. Just remove and insert new engine. I did mine and it was so simple it was stupid. The connections can only go to one spot. If you can masturbate then you can do this.

Yea, you have to pop out the axles. Make sure you drain your oil/fluid first. Then grap a screw driver and pop them out. Make sure you dont damage the seals. If you damage them, you have to find new ones. The tranny should come out with the motor. just disconnect everything.

Is it possible just to remove engine without taking the tranny out as well?

You have to unbolt the tranny from the motor. In the long run it will be 100 times easier to remove the tranny with the motor. For installing the clutch and mounting up to the motor.
I'm going to have to say no you can take out the tranny, but not the motor. If im wrong then im sorry. I only know of one way to take out the motor and thats with the tranny intact.
Sorry, i only know by my own personal exp.
