is the proper way to lift an engine with a cherry picker? just chain it anywhere and jack it up? or are there certain points, should i not use chains? what does everyone else use....

I used a leveling bar along with the cherry picker. The bar has chains/hooks for picking up the engine. These are found in auto parts stores as well,maybe for rent too. It made it easy.
