Default Accent 1.6L DOHC Install

I have a 2000 accent with 1.5l sohc. I wanted to know if a 2001 1.6l dohc will fit my 2000 accent. If it does what things will i need to replace? Will the ECU/sensors work from the 2000 with this? is the tranny the same? how about mounts and AC?

has anyone done this and is there a post? Thanks for your response.

Thanks

dont do it. do a 2.0 swap. the 1.6 is the worst engine for mods. theres not much for it.

check out the hybrid section. i dont think anyone will argue this

I agree I have a 1.6 and almost all the mods for it is discontinued, or you need to make it custom.
plus going from 1.5 SOHC to 1.6 DOHC isn't that much of an improvement to waist money on an engine swap.

I'm really not looking to mod the accent. its a spare car and needs an engine. DOHC engines seem to be much cheaper than the SOHC thats why I was wondering if this was possible.

if its an easy swap without any mods than I want to do it.

yea it possable. just look at hamservice.com for the wiring. I think only the maf to the map is the only sensor you need to change for the ECM to be plug and play. Im not 100% sure so dont quote me. I know that the motor mounts for the 1.6 are bigger than the 1.6. over all should be very easy.
