Default Emission Test Question

alright I did some searching but did not come across any info on whether the beta swap would affect an emmisions test.

I figured since your going from a 1.5LSOHC to a 2.0LDOHC that the car would create more emmisions(larger engine). Plus the sensor that the drive clean places use hooks up to cly #1's spark wire so I assume that the rev range is going to change.

Any info on how you guys did it would be most helpful.

Well,

I dont know how stringent your Emission laws are where you're from, but in Alaska, you can get your title changed so it shows that it has a different engine into it. That way, when the vehicle is tested, ti shows up as the correct engine. It's not whether the car has more emissions, it's whether or not the enginei s running well enough.

assuming you're in 'drive clean' ontario, i wouldn't think the betaswap will affect emissions compliance.

the beta engine is emissions compliant in the tiburon, so it will be compliant in the accent too, assuming the tibby ECU and a catalytic converter are included.
