GK 6 Speed on X3 Accent with Beta?

So soon i will be starting my x3 accent project. I'll be putting in a turbo'd beta 2.0 and am wondering if it would be possible to use the GK Tiburon 6 speed? I just hate to use a beta transmission and only have a top speed of like 125.

No, not withouit adapting it somehow because it does not bolt on. There is a 6 speed Beta tranny in Korea, but good luck finding one.

I've seen Beta engined cars hit 140mph, so I'm assuming they don't top out at 125. If it's an issue you can get a new differential gear ratio and go however fast you have enough power to push.

if you use a beta 2 tranny the gearing would suggest it can get up to about 140....unfortunelty (my xd) is cut off at 118....


Car and driver tested the top speed of hte gk...gearing only allowed it to get up to 140....it just simply has shorer gearing...if your turbo'd you will want longer gears...


if you cna get your hands on an 05-06 elantra/ tib tranny...they are triple cone syncros instead of single cone like the beta 1
