Default Beta Swap Begun

So started the swap about a week ago. It took me awhile to actually get going on things, since I wanted to clean up the Beta a bit before I dropped it in.

It's a 05 Beta with 9k on it and it's going into an 02 LC

There's been about maybe 10-15 man-hours of work so far

The Beta

Gutted LC

This is around the point where I'm ready to kill myself

I'm going out of town for a week so I'm just going to remove all the wiring before then, and once I get back I'll start on the install. I'm going to record this in man-hours instead of days since I maybe only work on it for around 3 hours a day.

The removal was nothign special, I just took out everything I could in the engine bay and left only the bare minimums. I marked all the wires on my harness with tape and a letter of the alphabet, and then did the same with their plugs on the engine.

I don't have the Beta harness yet but when I get it, I plan on doing the same thing, plugging the harness into the engine while it is still out of the car, and then marking it so it'll be easier to figure out once it's inside the car.

I don't have any plans yet for the interior wiring since I don't know if all of the Beta wires will mate right up with the plugs on the LCs interior.

On a side note, Dupli-Color makes a fabric paint that I thought I'd try on my seats while they were out of the car. The paint makes the fabric a little stiff but it seems like with normal wear and tear it will soften up.

Good luck!

I wish I had that time or money to do that. I bet your Accent will be one sweet car when it's finished. Handling and power!

So your swapping to the 2.0 harness like I did, sweet! What is your plan for rewiring? I have all the wiring schematics mapped out for the accent, tiburons and elantras if you need help.
