that particular one says 1.6 or 2.0, but doesn't say 1.5. I thought the heads were not cross compatible, which means the gasket isn't either.

Whoops, yeah you're right. That's the wrong spacer gasket. After some looking I can't find the one for the 1.5l anymore. I know it WAS available but I don't know if it is anymore.

Pretty much EVERYTHING from the 1.5 alphas is compatible. So maybe it'll be easier to find one from an X3 (1995-1999) or from a S-Coupe.

looks like rpw sells a decompression head gasket for the 1.5 sohc ($176 au)

Thanks, i will check it out. But for the price of them, I think it will be better to swap in scoupe pistons and rings...

UNLESS your running over 10psi I wouldnt even think of a decompression gasket. IMO

if you`re rebuilding engine i would definitly go with scoupe turbo pistons.
it will kill CR and you`ll run with high boost without any trouble

hm...here we have a guy who`s doing custom decompression plates for any cars

I will do the pistons next year if I keep the engine. I think i might do a beta swap next year and then turbo that..
