Default Sports coupe is a go apperantly

Hyundai's forthcoming rear-drive coupe will target the Infiniti G35. Expected next year as a 2008 model, the coupe will be a companion to a rear-drive sport sedan expected by the 2009 model year.

But while we've described the sport sedan as a "poor man's BMW," the 2008 coupe has been viewed as more of a G35-killer, which is to say, a competitive car at a typically lower Hyundai price. Its premium powerplant probably will be a turbocharged V-6, although the engine compartment does have room for a V-8.

I saw a spy video of the V-8 RWD sedan do a itty bitty burnout leaving a parking lot. Was not a v-6 at all. And man.. it sounded narley in stock exhaust. Think a cross between a Mustang GT and a Nissian 350Z with stock pipes. yeah.. dead sexy...

"propably"?

So no official statements yet, just guessing. No pics about new coupe.

What sport sedan they're talking about as being a poor mans bmw?

if they so much as consider adding drive-by wire on it..i'mma piss on it..

but then..i guess my moneys on hyundai..their stupid obsession with technology mean's it'll be crammed with acronym safety system's which of course require drive-by-wire..and hyundai's DBW is one of the worst.

sorry for being a bit cold on the crooked H ..but cars aren't engineered like they were in the old days..
it's all abotu 3rd party made part's and 3rd party made electronics that provide the "thrill"

but then again..doe's the 07 tib has still COT or DBW?

The '07 Tibby's engine is identical to the GK's, save for having CVVT (Continuously Variable Valve Timing). So no DBW for the Tibby...yet, at least.

have any of you guys ever driven a G35. I have and let me tell you, that thing is fun as hell. i've never been behind the wheel of a tib but if some guy offered me a free tibby or free g35, i'm taking the g35...

a RWD from hyundai would be awesome

and P.S. DBW scares the living **** out of me...maybe we will get to drive by bluetooth some day!!!!

My cousin just bought a G35, I was with him when the "break in" was done.
That thing accelerated like I have never felt in a car before.

Hes turning it into his daily driver / auto cross car.

Unless Hyundai is gonna have a crazy new power plant (hope they do) I don't see it competing with the G35
