Hyundai Concept Genesis Preview – New York Auto Show: In concept form, it’s called the Genesis, though we suggest Phaeton for the production version. That’s the name Volkswagen gave its luxuriously magnificent and exorbitantly priced uber sedan, the one that few bought because it wore a VW badge. A similar scenario would be feature a company like Hyundai offering a rear-wheel-drive “sport” sedan, slated in above the already spacious Azera and rumored to be powered by a V8. The difference, of course, is that Hyundai has proven successful in every applicable segment with its focus on quality, safety, and value. But will sport sedan drivers flock to Hyundai, a company known for soft-riding sedans and SUVs, for their thrilling daily commuter? If so, look for a heavy-duty crew cab pickup to be next.
Very sweet car!

i like hyundai's recent moves. i think they are really starting to pay attention to the market but with thought. they could have come out with a huge suv, but im sure they realized that that was just a fad. the quick agile family sedan is always in fashion. its the staple for the automotive market in general. i think its a good decision to go this route.
The Azera is already an extremely thrilling drive...my Dad just got one (I got his Buick Regal to replace my Accent), and that thing HAULS!! I mean, it takes off like a f*cking bat outta hell. I asked my Dad last night if he had totally launched it off the line yet, and he said he tried the other day and he couldn't overcome the massive amounts of wheelspin. He said that even without brake-torquing it, and even without the e-brake, stomping on the gas from a dead stop would create a smoke cloud easy.
I'm gonna grab it and go for a joy ride tonight...I'll try to grab some video. I wanna try to get it to really launch.
Either way, this Genesis is gonna be sweet.

^^ dang, let it break in before launching it. for the first 8,000 miles, the engine oil has million pieces of metals that scratches the engine, that's why break-in is crucial for long life.

He bought it with 20,000 miles on it as a program car. But yeah, I know, I would never launch a car without breaking it in.
