Why would a Hyundai come with GReddy from the factory? I wouldn't think that they would promote Japanese products.

Also, about the engine... It looks like a backwards SR20DET to me :P

Hmmm wonder if it has a timing belt or a chain... sigh I need to start saving for something... I will keep this an option if they do not blow it.

I wouldn't mind drive by wire throttle as long as it is responsive and dosen't have all the crap that keeps you from spinning tires (TCS or SCS whatever). Probibly can get better acceleration with one if it is set up right. Your foot tells the ecu that you want 100% and the computer will control the throttle to allow you to get the most torque by out of the engine as possible.

^^^Friend of mine is a professional MOTEC installer and worked for the company as a development engineer. If it pisses me off, then out goes the stock computer, and in goes the new MOTEC brain thatll run all the parameters. User-defined inputs/outputs FTW! A bit of wiring but it'll work.

Yeah the engine is not even close to my eye. The dipstick is in a different spot, the cover is a completely different shape. And yeah there's no way Hyundai's gonna test with a Nissan engine. That's like the new ford having a chevy engine in it... just not going to happen.

well.. I dont think we'll see a V8 in the tiburon. I think that might be saved for the BH sedan. A more "high line" luxury line.

But I think we are real close to seeing the test cars hit national in So. Cal. I hear that there might be one there allready. Also hear there was a V8 coupe of some sort out @ the test track and it MOVES...

As far as the throttle by wire. For the last two years when ever this car came up in class @ HMA or when I was talking to someone that could get word back to Korea, I all ways stressed out that system needed to me lag less. I told them, if I buy this car, I want to drive it. I dont want to wait for the throttle to open.

If honda can do it with the new SI's, why cant we. I drove a SI @ a track session put on by Honda and I didnt know it was drive by wire untill after when someone told me.

Shoot, bikes are starting to come like this.....

I really hope it lives up to our expectations. You might see my car up for sale.

Default Somewhat official specs and pics

All-New 2009 Hyundai RWD Coupe Will not Receive a V8 to Go Against the Mustang (The Torque Report)

Looks pretty damn slick if you ask me. It might just be time for me to sell my GS-R and get a new whip next year.

i knew it was too good to be true..

so i'm hoping it's either a base 2.0 215HP Turbo Theta or beta or a 300 HP Lambda as in the azera.

i don't want hyundai making a korean musclecar just yet..they're so not ready for that..
