There's only a handful of people who have actually professionally painted their interiors. My interior, Yuri's, as well as a few others have actually used a pro spraint gun, compressor, and authentic exterior automotive paint. That's how you get the fiberglassed look. Otherwise, a majority of the people on the boards who have painted interiors use regular spray paint in aresol cans. The price for having it done professionally depends on the shop and where you live. if you're able to do it yourself, then the price is only the cost of paint. otherwise to have a shop do it, you're looking at anywhere from $100 to $500 (high side of things). To do it with regular spray paint, then it'll only cost a few bucks for the paint.

Long has a good FAQ on his website about how to paint the interior yourself with spray paint. His FAQ talks about how many cans of paint you'll need, and the steps to do it. Plus if you do a search, you'll come up with LOTS of results on people tips for painting the interiors. Most people would prefer the professional route, but don't have the knowledge of professional painting, or want to pay the price to have a shop do it. So it depends on you really. Good luck.... 8D

Depends on how much you want to paint. If you are doing it yourself, it shouldn't be too expensive. I painted a good amount of my front cabin and it cost me about $50 total in paint and sandpaper.

yeah i guess ill do it myself.. the only part that worries me is the inside of the door... i have heated garages and even the right equiptment to do an exterior paint job so if i can go get some of the red paint from hyundai that was used on my body that'd be cool... so what is the website with the FAQ or the exact procedure to get it done?

Dweet....the instructions that are on Long's website are for regular aresol spray paint. If you plan on doing it professionally, then it's a bit different as far as the steps you have to take. If you have the tools to paint professionally, then you shouldn't need any directions. Otherwise, if you're not experienced with spraying exterior automotive paint, I would seriously let a pro do it. Plus, using exterior auto paint on interior plastic is a little more difficult than using it on the outside of the car. I'm not saying all of this to be a prick. I just don't want you to end up messing up your dash and doors. But if you do decide to go ahead with the automotive paint and doing it yourself, then you can buy the paint from any paint supplier or distributor. Some body shops won't sell paint outright to consumers. So you take a chance with going to a Hyundai body shop. Again though...good luck with whatever you decide to do....

well i just found someone willing to do it for a reasonable price.. the only thing he said though is the vinyl paint may not stick because i used armor all on it and the silicon from it is embedded into the pores.... are there any cleaners that can clean that up pretty good without melting the plastic?

Dawn dish soap should take any away any oils and wax type crap on it. After that wipe it down a few times with some rubbing alcohol, it wont hurt the plastic and it is self drying just go over it a few times to make sure most of the stuff is stripped off.

plain ol' rubbing alcohol will take off armor-all too. I haven't had any signs of problems with my spray-painted dash, like peeling or cracking, for the six months it's been painted.

why would any one want to spay paint there int? for my shop to paint an int. it will run about 2000 dollors depending on the size of the car, for a tib I would want to say about 1700. All of the inside is removed, scrub with comit and a scuf pad. and depending on the part the vinal may be removed. plasit is the used, and primed, then sand and prime, and sand in prime, then it's sprayed in the color of choice, what you'll end up with is a complety smoth int. I think it's one of the best int mods you can do, give the car a nice clean look to the inside. like this one.
