Anybody know of a car with this done. There are 3 extra Sockets (for cellphone, accessories, inverter, etc.) I need to get the right paint for the console... what should I get? and if anyone knows of an aluminum ring to replace the rings around the holes, where could I get them. I've tried all local hardware stores but nothing...
If your gonna flame this little job of mine... just make it short and to the point plz. I just need a little HP.com help that's all:ermm:
Hmm..well, I would think it would be a somewhat simple mod to do. You can pretty much buy the cig adapters at almost any stereo shop or cellular shop. It's just a matter of taking the center console out, drilling the holes to plug your peripherals into, and then attaching the cig adapters from behind the holes. You would probably be able to get the cig adapters attached to the center console buy using some kind of small bracket from any hardware store. Once you get everything all in place, then just splice into your stock cigarret lighter's wiring, and attach the adapter to it. You should be able to accomplish this within a day or so. Good luck...

Thanks man. But uhh that pic is mine. It's all done but I want to get some nice shiny rings or make mine look a little cleaner. Mine are just some vinyl plugs that I drilled holes into. I want some metal rings or something. I decided to not splice into the stock cig lighter but instead run some wire to the battery and I threw in an inline fuse. It's a easy little job but it sure makes things cleaner than having my wires all over the console in the stock lighter plug. What kind of paint should I get for the console though? And what process should I use to paint it.
Hmmm.....as far as metal rings, what about keychain rings? You might be able to find some where you can snap into the holes and will stick out a little giving it a custom look. Otherwise, you're only other option is to keep searching different hardware stores in hopes that something comes up.
As far as paint goes, do you want it stock color or something else? Because if you want it stock color, then it might be difficult finding the right shade. Otherwise, I say just rip everything out, (center console, dash, doors, etc..) and paint them all together.

Yup good ideas. I want to decide on the color of interior paint and then have it ALL done together pro style. I'd never spray paint my car, I spend countless hours in that car or bedroom on 17's if you will. man i wish i could just find that shade for now though. It's like the batmobile with all the lil non performance gadgets o mine in there. But maybe your right about the key rings. Polished aluminum rings that fit perfect would probably be about as easy to find as Atlantis.
Check out homedepot they might have little rings & fittings that might work. Or buy a little jar or paint thats chrome or silver looking. Most craft stores have tons of shades to choose from, or check out well stocked model kit stores they usually carry good colors for model car kits & airplanes etc.. Slap on a few clear coats over it and it should be good 2 go. :
