Default engine bay

can someone please tell me what exactly i have to cover in the engine to wash the engine bay? My engine bay has a lot of grease and dirt build up on almost everything and i would really like to clean it. Thanks
oh by the way i have a 99 tiburon

really?
thats it? what about the distributor and coils and everything like that? on websites i read for other cars they listed like 10 things you needed to cover

I was TOLD to cover the alternator, because any cleaning materials that get in it might prevent it from starting, but the problem is only temporary (5 min. max) until it dries out. I don't know if this is true or not, it's just something I heard. Can anyone verify?

If you feel the need to you can cover the alternator and distributers, sparks plugs would be the msot important though I think god luck.

if you can find a distributer go ahead and cover, but I don't think you'll have much luck:lol:

our cars have a distributerless ignition system(DIS) and use coil packs instead

It usually says on the can itself what needs to be covered. But most likely your sparkplugs & air filter like someone else said. Also when you do rinse it out with water dont power blast it. Use a gentle stream or somthing a little stronger, your only trying to remove dirt and crap your not washing down a house lol.
