Default What's the general opinion on Cobra seats? Any good?

I'm looking at the Cobra Sidewinder seats, since the stock Tiburon seats have no side support and my friend and I slide around alot on hard turns. The Cobras are pricey, but are they worth it? I like the Recaro Sport (Integra Type R model) too, but I think they might be even more. A lot of people have Sparco seats, but they're expensive and over done in my opinion. What's the general opinion on Cobras?

dont know how much you have to spend but i got into a pair of kirkey full "true" bucket racing seats for about 405 shipped to my door. Most people love them some just dont like the look i guess. They are kinda like sitting in a baby seat is what i hear alot and i know for a fact that if you slide around in these you have some major issues. Oh by the way i have the second line up the pro strip series or somthing like that. anyway try kirkeyracing.com and see what you like.

Cobra is a realy good brand of race seats if you can spring for them....
Personally, I feel they are awsome for sanctioned events like SCCA or drag circuits with a 13secound or better vehicle... however, for daily driving they can get to be a little tuff on someone.....
I don't think so because I enjoy the race seat feel but my friends sometimes complain and say that they are to firm...especially when I ask them to transport the vehicle long distances for events....
I own a set of four (cobra:suzukas) which normally are all in my '94Civic Hatch. On occasion my friends will borrow the back set when they are running at a track localy. Most tracks have set rules to where if you are running within a certain time frame it is required to run with a helmet, cage, or even approved seats..... cool deal about the cobra seats is that the minute you roll up to stage, the officials won't trip and know cobras are approved...
Cobra is a huge seller through out europe.

The other nice feature about cobra seats that most dealers don't even know is that there are european spec seats and american spec seats. Generally americans tend to be larger and Cobra has addressed this.... So when ordering specify U.S. Spec seats....

If you wish to go direct contact Sube Sports in huntington beach California and ask to speak to Chad. He is the F'n man when it comes to racing.... He is the owner of Sube Sports and is a veteran of the WRC and american rally circuits which he held the championship title for a number of consecutive years.... just an all around great guy...

silly story: When I had ordered my seats a few years back to spice up my civic for the film the fast and the furious another production company had also paid a visit to sube sports and was also ordering Cobra seats at the same time.. soon i found out that the other seats ordered where used for the film "X-Men"... these are the seats used on the X-jet...:duh:

How much did the pair cost before shipping? And how much was shipping? (Also which ones did you get?) The way it looks on the Sube Sports website, it would run 1200 before shipping for a pair. That can't be right can it?

Like I said "If you can spring for them...."

why do you think more people sport sparco seats than cobra... you pay for what you get. Don't get me wrong,Sparcos are great but the technology on Cobra seats are a bit more advanced. But if you're planning to just use them for daily driving and cosmeticly spice up your interior...wellll,...:nervous: maybe these aren't the seats for you.... you may want to consider some Tenzo seats. Cosmeticly they have been designed to please the import tuners of today and at an extremly affordable price... I can order you a pair for $550+s&h. MSRP on them alone are $375/per that would come out to $750 for a pair... you do the math... oh yeah, and they recline...

So the Cobras really are 1200-1300 a pair?
