To tell you the truth, I spraypainted my interior bezels. Just regular old spraypaint did the trick(and it looks wonderful).

Most people on the board have used just regular spray paint. Otherwise if you have the skill or the money, you can have it painted with a gun and real automotive paint. Bat Lord, myself, and I believe one other person did that.

Otherwise the regular $2 a can blue light special spray paint does the trick. Just make sure that before you paint, you clean your parts very very good. Either buy some wax and grease remover, or use regular dish soap to clean the parts. Clean them like 2 or 3 times just to make sure. The last thing you want when you paint are little fisheyes or dust particles in the paint.

When painting, use a good primer. Sometimes people get sandable plastic primer, and then once they apply 2 or 3 coats, they wet sand the parts until they're nice and smooth. When you apply the colored paint, don't do it all in one shot. Take your time, gently move the can side to side, holding it about a foot away from the parts. It's better to do 3 or 4 coats of light spray than 1 or 2 thick coats. Once it's all fully dried (best is to leave it dry over night) then wet sand it, and apply a few good coats of gloss clear. The clear coat is what's gonna protect the paint from scratches and dirt, so it's good to apply to like 4-6 light coats.

Then let it dry (again, preferably over night) and install all back together. Good luck!

600 minimum, 800 or 1000 is best for finish coats.

What about the folio-tech paint? Where do you get it? Is it not a brush-on paint?

I'm painting the interior too!

In regards to paint and clear coat.

make sure the paint and clear coat are compatable. I had to resand, re-paint 2 VERY LARGE areas of my dash because the clear coat 'crackeled' the paint. It dried for serveral days, so it was not that the paint was wet...just incompatable. When I used the same brand paint AND clear coat...no problems.

BTW...things go MUCH easier if you use automotive primer first. The stuff sticks to plastic, and the paint then sticks to the primer much better. Krylon makes auto primer, colored paints and clear coat that are all compatable.
