I used a heat gun (heavy duty blowdryer) and a newspaper to get the decals off my car's tailgate. After I peeled and wiped all I could I used some Auto Goo Gone. You can't even tell there were vinyl stickers there.

I've also seen people use the 'smart eraser' and it didn't fvck up their paint jobs and did wonders removing the decals. The smart eraser is best if you are removing big stuff (not tiny letters like I did).

If you would like to know more about the eraser thing, I can give you a phone number to call.

Yes PLEASE.....I have been calling and posting for a couple of months.....I cannot find those things for the life of me. Someone gave me a website that had them listed but you had to buy a box of 1200 or something ridiculous like that. I have checked local dealers, vinyl shops, paint shops, hardware stores...etc and no one seems to know what I am talking about, either that or they say "We can do it for you for a nominal fee". If you do have a number or site it would be greatly appreciated.

(800) 476-3006 is the number for Baker PBE Warehouse, Inc.

The item is from : ASTRO PNEUMATIC TOOL CO.
The product name is: SMART ERASER
The product id is: AST400E

I called them last week and they said that it likely wouldn't be a problem to buy a single 'smart eraser'. But they recommend buying 2 or 3 if you are doing a big project or using the item commercially, because they can wear out quickly.

When I checked their online catalog, the listing was that there were 12 'items' in a 'case' and the price next to that was '$14.48'. So, I don't know if the price was $14 for one eraser or for twelve of them.

I'll call tomorrow and find out for sure when I get someone competent on the other end of the line. aranoid:

Okay, I just got off of the phone and this is what I could come up with:

There are two ways to get this stuff:
(AST400E) 1. Buy a case of smart erasers (or individually), if you buy them this way the price is $14.48 PER ERASER. Which comes to $173.36 per case plus the cost of shipping.

That isn't a bad deal, but if enough people want them, I was able to hammer out a better deal.

(AST32) 2. Buy the Smart Eraser Kit (retail $183.57). The kit includes:
12 erasers (a case as listed above)
1 tool to use the erasers (air powered die grinder retail $55-$75)

If I buy the kit, I was able to get the price down to $150 per kit and they have 55 kits in stock right now. If I buy this kit, I would sell the erasers individually for $11 plus the cost of shipping. The total price from me would be about $14. Whereas the price for an individual eraser would be about $18-$20.

Depending on my extra money situation in the next week or so, I may buy the kit anyway for myself.

Anyone here interested? If anyone is, I will be happy to hook you up! 8D
