Default 2lo or anyone - Need NEONS help

Ok, here's my dilemma, Hot Import Nights is approaching again, and I need to know how to keep my neons and radio running without having to pay the $90+ bux they charge for an electricity outlet...

Please help me with this, I want something that I can keep reusing show after show??? I know I might need another battery just for the shows, but this is what I want to know, please help me out... thank you

Hey Raspy, me and Edwin CREW member #12 will be there, so if you're up for it, let me know, we have to enter and drop off the cars on Friday night, the show itself is on Saturday, but you must register quick if not they will be sold out...

Zup Yuri...well...you're best bet is to get a couple of Deep Cycle MARINE batteries. These are the types of batteries used in Hydraulic Applications. They last pretty long, and it's very easy to recharge them with a charger. BUT...unless yu have hook ups...a couple of those battery's will run ya around 120 bux or so. It would be cheaper to pay the $90 for the eletricity outlet.

Another issue is that neon takes VERY little current draw. You could easily leave your neon and strobe lights on all day at the show with one deep cycle battery. But if you plan on demoing your stereo alot, then that's going to kill your power supply pretty quick. Just some things to think about....

Ok, but how is the hookup? I mean, I need to go from battery to 12v??? I know I need a transformer and I have only 1, how many will I need, and can I hook up so many to 1 battery??? also, of course I will have my major power cables hooked up to the regular battery since I put them on when I cruise around, so how do I hook it up to the new batter??? and where do I hide the new battery at shows??? this is my major questions, thanks man, I really don't want to ride around with another battery in the car since it's prolly heavy enough with all the sound system...

Well, your best bet would probably be to disconnect your engine bay battery, run a longer power cables from the disconnected battery cables to the spare battery. I've seen people put the battery's under the car somewhere. Either right underneath the engine bay on the ground..or even under the car in the middle. You'll just have to run longer power and ground cables. As far as transformer goes..do you mean the neon transformers? If that's the case..you have nothing to worry about. You can hook up as many you want to the spare battery's. If you end up getting a couple of them...just hook up one at time. You want to make sure you don't go over a 12 volt application for your stereo or neon.

I'm sure there are alot better ways to go around this, but this is just what I've seen people do. When I had my lowriders with hydraulics..I would always end up killing my battery at shows. So all I would have to do is run jumper cables from the main battery, to the hydraulic battery's, hit a few switches for a couple of minutes, and WHAMO! Instant charged battery!
