my brother in law made his own molds for a lambo-fiero kit and he made them out of fiberglass. he just sprayed over the shape then you have the reverse forms to spray into.

silverkit made his homemade kit out of styrofome, then put fiberglass over top of it I believe. He used the really thick industrial stuff.

I'm not sure if that's what he's asking.

Let's say I took my Veilside Kit off and wanted to make a mold of it to reproduce others, how would I go about this? What would I use to make a mold of it?

plaster or resin. you would need to get get some kind of release agent then the original pops out when dry.

what I'm asking is that if I wanted to make a front lip for my car what would be the best way to make a mold for it. Is designing it from stirofoam the only way to go about it? Because I sorta tried doing that and its freeking hard.

...no one said it was going to be easy. You definitely need to practice doing it several times. I mean...you can't possibly expect to get it right the first time around, do you?

you prolly dont want to use styrofoam.
i am not sure where you can get it but i know we had acces to it last year for making models and what not at school but you need to get like an industrial 10 or 20 lbs foam. 10-20lbs refers to the density. then you can make a frame and por plaster or whatever you are going to use and work from there.

just a little note though the foam is expensive. if you need more info on the foam i can try to find out for you just let me know
