I saved it a long time ago and burned it to a cd. It was a good faq so I wanted to have a copy of it. I haven't used it anywhere else and I just brought the pics up cause someone wanted them. Maybe you should get it on the HP server.

8D I realize it looks cool, but you won’t be able to race at a drag strip anymore. Unless your just talking back doors.

Ummm..what are you talking about? There's ALOT of cars (professional race/drag/etc) that don't have door handles. And alot of my customers that have shaved handles go to the track all the time with no issues. :ermm: :hmmm:

I won’t name the track, but they claim it’s a safety issue. There has to be an easy way to open the doors from outside of the car so they can get you out incase of an mishap. Wonder what the track would say about my truck, the doors lock automatically. How would they get in to save my ass????

:smoking:

dont know if anyone cares, but this weekend on "Trucks" on TNN they showed how to do some metal work, and shaving handles was the first thing they showed. It was basically the same as this DIY, but he showed how to use a contour tool to make the piece of sheet metal the same contour of the door. Then welded and grinded, then tapped out the distortion in the sheet metal. It actually looked like something i would seriously try myself if i had a welder.

I recorded it to tape, so i dont know how i would get it up on here for everyone to see. Any ideas? im sure i could send the tape to someone that could make it into an mpeg or something.

Anyway.. just thought i would share... Peace

With a remote or an under car switch that uses a solenoid valve to release the door from the catch.
