well, I was considering doing the majority of it by hand, and perhaps using a dremel tool as well. Im sure it could be done, but would take a heck of a lot of elbow grease I suppose...I would like to get it done in a week ideally. Possible? to buffer machines involved...???

you'd have to do 70% of it by dremel so i hope you have patience.... maybe get it powdercoated instead?

yeah, considered powdercoating, but one of my friends is already going down that route, so I thought I'd be a little different and go old-skool shiny

As far as I can gather from reading on the web the process is as follows

Sand down to smooth, using progressively smoother grades of sandpaper
Once texture is removed, buff with polish

Should I be sanding, polishing, sanding, polishing and so on, or is it ok to just get 90% of the sanding out of the way straight up?

Well, for those that care, the work has begun, did a small bit of sanding last night, and you will all be glad to know that I went out today and purchased a Dremel, did a little bit of testing tonight, and yeah, its gonna make things alot easier.

Question, how did you allget into corner parts (As you know, the throttle body is full of hard to get at places! Gonna be crazy!

*EDIT: I have pics..will post up some progress shots soon!
