Default Ceramic coating question.

Can something that is already ceramic coated, be ceramic coated over that? I have a s/c and headers that are ceramic coated and I would like to get it in a differnet finish.

Also I believe there is ceramic coating that looks like chrome, but has the benifits of ceramic in that it doesn't discolor, isnt this true?

Don't know about recoating but here is my ceramic chromed header. It was done by http://www.capsbhc.com/ and turned out excellent. Inside and out was $145 shipped. Give them a call. They have a toll free number, they can tell you what you need to know.

Default Re: Ceramic coating question.

likely what they would do is re-bake the header at the normal 2500 or whatever degrees and that burns off everything down to bare metal including the ceramic and just recoat it how you want.

the coating youre thinking on is 'ceramikrome' and it does shine very similar to chrome. and you are right it will NOT discolor due to heat up to about 1800 degrees, it can chip and if it does then moisture seeps into the metal becaus ethe seal has been broken and rust starts. i should show you a pic of my ceramic header right now after a NY winter uzzled::nervous:aranoid:
