Default painting engine pieces

How hot does it get under there? I wanna paint my heat shield and my valve cover blue to go with the end plan for the car. Will 1200 degree F paint hold up? The valve cover is not my big worry, the heat shield is. The bolts are all rusted already and I don't wanna break 'em. I also don't want the paint burning off. Please help!

You should ask Bat Lord, If I'm not mistaken, before he got the headers, he had his exhaust plate painted blue to match his car.... Yo Bat, How well did that work?

NOS!...I Need NOS!....And I Need It By Tonight...

yeah the 1200 degree paint will hold up but make sure it is 1200 degree paint if not it will smoke and peel after few minutes of running it.

1200° paint will hold up too well. What will happen is after putting it on and having your engine run for awhile, the paint color will fade and change to a different shade. If you want the exact color paint that you pick out, then you will need 2500°. As far as having your Hot PLate chromed, it's a small piece. Most shops will charge anywhere from $15-$60 for it. Look in your phone book under Metal Plating and you should be good to go.

The highest I've seen is 1500 degrees. Where can I get the 2500 stuff?
