Hey ok...I'm no expert on this, but yeah it's when there are no door handles on the outside of the car. I'm sure that lo and show will get on here and explain much better and in detail about this.
How you get in, as far as I know, it's by a sensor that you put somewhere..I've heard that you can use emblems and things.
Now how you would install it, not sure. I don't think that I'd want to try this mod myself, so it would be to the shop it goes or get someone who would be able to help me with it.
This is kinda funny cuz I wanted to ask lo and show this question..how do you do it and to have it professionally done, how much does it cost approx?? I would love to know all the info about this and I think cougart would too.

Redshark is right on. They take out the door handle and cover the spot where the handle use to be. The way you open it is through a remote. kind of like a keyless entry system. hit the button...door pops open.
I dont like them. I like the door handles. batter goes dead...then what?

jrh with shaved handles you have a switch hidden somewhere on the car jsut in case the remote does break. so if you see a car with shaved handles, chances are you can find the switch pretty easily.
also a bad side to shaved handles, and which makes them illegal, is the fact that if you happen to get into an accident and you are trapped in the car the rescue workers would have no way of getting you out of the car safely.

When I shaved the handles on my car I did a write up on it so goto my site and click on the How To's and goto Shaving Handles and it has a step by step process and pics of me shaving my rear handles on my car. Also to see another car that all the handles are shaved on goto the About on the page and then to members and the Vice Pres of my Club, his 97 mirage has all the handles shaved on it. Hope I helped you out, and as far as the hidden button you would never find it on the mirage and I would put 100 bux on it you have to be creative when you hide it. I don't have any pics of the Silnoids we used on the Mirage but they are the 35lb ones form the Auto Loc kit.
The door will still open regardless if it locked or not, cause as soon as you hit the button to open the door it will unlock the door. Just like when your inside the car and open up the door when it is locked it will open up.
Anytime I can Help I will.

yeah that's what I meant when I said the thing about the emblem..I just didn't know how to explain it. You can use anything or put it anywhere.
