I saw a paint job the other day I wanted to tell about. I'm wondering if you've ever seen it. Anyways, it was a white '92 Civic hatchback with a chameleon pearl.
It looked sweet as hell. I can only imagine a Tib with a paintjob like that .

Sweet! Custom paint jobs like always look sweet on a car..even if there really isn't much done to it. You said it was a white Chamaleon Pearl. Are you sure it wasn't just White Pearl. Chamaleon (or the formal name is Chromalusion) is basically paint that literally changes different colors depending on the angle you look at it. Where as a pearl paint job does change color, but not to a different color. Pearls mainly stay the same color as the car..they just get brighter or lighter depending on the angle. I guess that's the best way to explain it. Hard to understand unless you have the 2 types of paint in front of you. Alot of times people will put on a nice bright base coat, and then they'll add a thin pearl coat over it to get a different color change scheme going.
There are only 3 Chromalusion Color combinations out on the market as of now, but I do know that some companies are trying to do different techniques to get other color combo's. As of now, they are:

Yup, it was the Chromalusion pearl. As the car drove past me the pearl effect on the front was a greenish, the middle of the car was just white, and the rear was purple. As it drove by, all the colors changed.
It had to have been the sweetest paint job I've ever seen.

I've seen a Tib with the Chameleon paint job. Hyundai-UK customised one a few years back to show people what they could do with their own car- it looked sweet!!. I'll see if I can find the pic and post it.
"A unique and spectacular Hyundai Coupe produced specially by Hyundai Car (UK) Ltd and
some of its suppliers displays just how this in-demand vehicle can be personalised by its
owners.
The chameleon-like paintwork, ear-bursting hi-fi system and engine and suspension tweaks
make this the fastest, loudest and most head-turning Coupe yet seen on UK roads."

JGraham9382.....You buy the paint, and give me like 3-4 days to shoot it and make sure it's perfect, and you're good to go!
Ahhhhhh...now there's my Tibby. Picture this...that exact paint on the Tib, no front turnsignals or door handles, molded body kit, and it laying right on the ground with 19" Konig Verdict's tucked up in the fender well. That is my car....well...after the winter anyway. (Doing all the work then)
Come spring time, and I open up my garage door, and pull my ride out of a long wintery hibernation....EVERYONE will fear the Lo Shark!

Dude...after seeing the car that he just posted...you have a friggen deal. How much does the paint run anyways? I might seriously take you up on that offer...
Do you want to know how much Chromalusion paint runs or regular paint? Chromalusion is VERY expensive. You're looking at between $300-$600 for just a QUART. If you go with regular paint like Dupont, or PPG, then you can get away with everything you possible need (primer, paint, clear, solution mixers) for about $250-$300.....again depending on where you go. That's the price that I could get everything for. If you want any custom colors like pearl or granite, or even microflake for the clear, it'll be just a tiny bit more expensive. The reason why it would take like 4 days or so is because I would sand your car down to bare metal, and then do all the paint work. I would also do your door jambs, but not your entire engine bay. I don't have the right tools to take the engine out and fully paint inside the bay, but I could get some of it. Also, if you decide to get your car painted, you should save up and get some other things like shaved door handle kits, small body kit, spoiler, etc... That way you can everything painted and installed at once.
A friend of mine has Beretta and last summer he came to me and told me he wanted his car to be a show car. I asked him what he wanted done, and he said to surprise him. I kept his car for 2 weeks, and made sure he didn't see it during the buildup. In that time period, I sprayed a full Tangerine Orange paint job with light blue TRIBAL flames. I also shaved all emblems, handles, installed a sliding rag top, and lowered it. He basically gave me the money and told me to do what I have to do. I have pics of it before and after, and it's a completely different car. When he came back after 2 weeks and seen it, I thought the kid was gonna need a new pair of underpants. I've never seen someone so happy.
Anyway..sorry for babbling, but basically what I'm saying is that if you have the cash and you want your car to be a complete show car...I can do it. Or myself and everyone else on this board can help you along the way to get there. By doing things yourself, you get a better sense of accomplishment, and when or if you ever do decide to get rid of the car....you can TRULY say, "This is MY car. No one else did anything, and I am the one that made this car with it's current personality." Ahhhh ... building vehicles...... now if you excuse me...I must go out to my garage and do some more fun stuff to my little red Lo Shark.
