Default DIY: Front canards kit[UPDATED: Materials LIST]

Aight, here's the product ready to be installed. I'll put up the rest of the DIY when the job is finished.



Materials LIST

2 x aluminium plate, 1.2mm[+] thickness, 1' x 2'
1 x aluminium section, 90deg. bend, 1' [get a small one, about 15mm each way] 1.2mm thickness
10 x aluminium pop rivets
10 x self-tapping screws, countersunk

Templating materials

1 x A2 backing board for bank pad[you can get these from art stores]
1 x scissors, heavy cutting
1 x heavy box cutter
1 x fine marker

TOOLS

1 x electrical jigsaw w/aluminium blade or angle grinder w/ fine disc
1 x countersink head
1 x drill bit set[depending on what dimension screws and rivets you want]
1 x coarse/fine bastard file
1 x fine sandpaper

FINISHING

1 x etch primer
1 x whatever colour you want
1 x clear coat

Process to come.

Sorry about the wait; uni's been pretty hectic and I haven't had the time to cut the L-brackets up and fit them to the car. You can do this at home, so no worries about spending money on them.

Ok...here's one of my many NOOB questions. What are canards for?

Canards

Canards (bumper winglets) are designed to provide downforce on the front end of the car. Much like a wing on the rear of the car, canards add drag but help keep the front of the car planted when at speed. Made of plastic, carbon fiber, or fiberglass, canards are relatively inexpensive. However, they flex the paint on the front bumper skin, often resulting in stress cracks in the paint's surface.

Whoops, sorry about that gents I totally forgot about the topic. I'll be building up a new set to go with the front lip/diffuser I'm designing, so I should be able to document the process from scratch.
