Ok so I am saving up to get my car painted and I have this really cool idea to get it painted a dark red color (its bright red now) and Im gonna have a friend of mine do vinals for me that are flat black but are roses but more the style of tribal roses...very bold like!! I have always had a knack for coming up with cool paint and vinal designs (when I had my neon I wanted to paint it baby metalic blue with silver wings going down the sides)!!! I really like this idea cuz well its still girlie but it looks kinda mean at the same time, so let me know...I mean no matter what I still plan on getting that cuz I have my heart set on it but I wanna kno what you think!

i'd say no because i'm not a fan of vinyl at all and i think that roses would be gay...

BUT

then i noticed you were a girl and that style actually works for some people. my manager has a girly pink eclipse with a full out body kit. it's kind of cool. and if you like it, do it!

Why do you not like vinal?? Is there a reason like it peels or sumthing??

yeah its kinda hard to explain, i dont really kno how to explain it i have it in my head but putting it into words is difficult i wish i could draw cars (im a decent artist) and that way i could sketch it out with color and everything, it would be easier to explain than...speaking of drawing cars, i wish i could draw as good as Suki did in The Fast and The Furious 2 movie, shes got talent!! LOL!!

I have some vinal on my rear window. I've had it for two years, and its faded, peeling, and looks like ass....

Vinal is a temperary thing. You really want something on your car? pinstripe it in or find someone who airbrushes. There are a few people in the Tacoma area. But you have to track them down, they dont really advertise.

good to kno, how difficult would it be to have the car painted than the design painted in over top in a flat black if the dark red is a glossy paint? Is it possible at all!

Its easy to pain the design and all. but its not cheap. A nice airbursh job is up there in the $600 to start. And it only goes higher. Ive just never liked vinal at all.

A nice pinstriping design is MUCH nicer IMHO. I really shed away from the over the top vinal and paint jobs. Less is MORE for sure.

hmmm....i dont kno, the vinal design i want is just flat black so it mite not be to hard to paint on! or maybe ill just do it....i have a pretty close friend that does really good vinals!

Flat black roses in a tribal or edgy style would be cool on a darker(deeper) red paint....for a girl!

I'd say go for it. If the vinyl comes out perfect and you want it to last for ever, you can always get it clear coated over (before it starts to peel) and a simple clear coat isn't THAT much.
