Default Lookin for rims in all the wrong places...

Hey, howyadoin...
I've been lookin around for rims for my 2k1 accent gsi. Just don't want 5/4/3 star rims like the factories. Looked at some of the enkeis but they cost so bloody much. Any suggestions?
Thanks,

Save your money.
Enkies are not that much when it comes to getting descent wheels. You want to make sure you get a light one or you will loose a lot of performance. I do not generally suggest going into magnesium even though they are the lightest cause they are expensive and if you hit a pot hole you can kiss you rim goodbye.
Whatever you do just shop around (keeping weight in mind) til you find what you like and then save for it. You buy just for price you won't be happy. While you are saving keep your eyes open for other rims cause you might find something you like better.

And welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the info and suggestions, autobot.
I've been cruisin around lookin at the selections. I do like the looks of hyundiaxtreme's tsw revos. Man, those look sweet....
Thing is, too, i'm up here in Canada. I like the selection at places like discount tire direct and tirerack.com, but with shipping and duty, and the crappy value of our dollar, I'm gonna pay an arm and a leg for even the cheaper rims. I think you're right. I'm just gonna hold off til I get the coin together....
thanx again...

Lerz... if your looking for new but cheap rims, look for something in 15 range size... defnitely cheaper and lighter than 16 or 17 and you get to improve the looks of your accent. Autobot is right especially if you race.
Have you tried Konig Tantrum or Monsoon? Check out discount tire's web site to see what it would look on your accent.

Hey! Check out tirerack.com. They will have what you want. Lemme know if you have any questions...my brother-in-law works there.

Or you can be a cool guy like me and get some 16" Volks .

P.S. I don't have them yet, but hopefully soon.

Thanks everyone for all the advice. I'd like to get those volks, 4door, mmmmm i love the rally look. Thanks Gene for the help. I love the selection and prices at tirerack.com, but like I said, the shipping and duty, and crappy value of the Canadian dollar would almost triple the list value of the rims.I have found a Canadian magazine that has a bunch of wheel distributors up here in the Great White North. I found a package of TSW Zenons with yoke rubber for a reasonable price. Like those Zenons. Now if I could find the enkei arashis in a smaller size than 17"......

yep lerz, you're right, those arashis are awesome!! I don't think they make them in under 17 tho... which really sucks!

have you looked at the tsw fly's or the revo's?? cuz they look really nice, the zenons are still 17 in. and I would really consider the rubbing factor.

Right on the money, knocker. I definitely am gonna avoid the larger sized rims. I'm hearing too many rubbing stories from anything bigger than a 15'..
The revos are actually looking like a strong possibility. No one around here has 'em. I was about to get the hockenheims, but the guy down the street from me just threw them on his VW gti. bummer. I'm gonna look around for a couple more weeks, then make a final decision.
