Default Question for x3 (1995-99) Accent owners:

Has anyone here pulled the rear drums off their car themselves?

First off, what size of a socket is needed for the rear bearing nut?

I need to put new rear brake shoes and drums on my car, and I wanted to see if anyone has pulled the drums off themselves, and if it's as easy on our cars as it is on most.
And, does the wheel bearing need to come off with the drum, does the drum come off independently of the bearing?
I've looked at hmaservice.com and it looks simple enough. I just want to make sure before I dive into this.

Thanks!

There is a philips screw to take off the drum... it dosn't come off togeather with the bearing.. You need a 1-1/4" , 32MM soccet to take off the bearing... it's not too hard i do it myself... it's sometimes a b*tch to take off the nut though.. Good Luck :
