Default car woudn't start

My car wouldn't start this morning! My neighbor used her jumper cables to get it started. So I need a new battery right? Isn't batteries supposed to last longer than a year? How long will the charge last? I killed it when I got to work, and then started it again with no problem. I just hope its okay at lunch time.

I know nothing about car problems :ermm:

Ok..just got back from lunch. It started...woo-hoo, but it was kinda slow to start, like it had to try for a few secs. I'm going to take it to my local Auto Zone and get them to test the battery. My dad says it could be the alternator or battery. I would take it to the local Hyundai Dealership, since everything should be under warrenty, but I'd have to take a day off work, and they b*tch if they have to make do without me.

Grrr...I hate this kind of stuff...I bought a new car to avoid this. I know - it happens.

One more thing: Has anyone called the Hyundai Roadside Assistance number? I started to call it this morning, but wasn't sure how long it would take them to get there.

I've used the Hyundai Roadside Assistance twice since I've had the car. The first time was when a linkage inside the transmission busted and I lost all gears. The tow truck picked it up within an hour and even dropped the keys off in the overnight box for me.

The second time I lost half of the ignition coil the night before my first day of work in Columbus. All I told them was that the car wasn't running well (I wasn't sure if something went wrong because I just had the new timing belt installed) and they picked up, dropped it off at the dealership with no questions asked.

Considering that towing will cost anywhere from 60-150 bucks, this service is well worth it.

Did you check to see if it was covered by warranty?
