Default Check Engine Light

Its weird. Okay this is what happened. I was leaving to work today around 8:50 am this morning, Saturday. So I pulled over kinda fast, well i was doing 5000rpms on first gear (note: the car had less than 1 minute running) so i drove up to the main street and when I shifted to second gear my light came on... so i shifted to third gear and lowered the rpms to around 2500 doing around 40-50 and the light was still on. So after a minute or so the light stopped blinking.

My guess would be that of I started too quick with the car being cold. But you guys could probably give me a reason. Id appreciate that. Thanks in advance.

Airfilter may be starting to get dirty.

It will cause the light to come on cause and go off just like that. It also may be nothing at all.

I had my light blink at me one mourning for about 30 seconds.... car had about a foot of snow around it so I assume it had something to do with the exhast being stopped up.. never happened again after that.

I've had that happen before, I took it to the dealer and they said my plug wires were loose so they replaced them. Happened one other time after that and I just opened it up and tightened the wires myself, fixed it just fine, hope that helps.

Tighten the plug wires? wow...the best way to know is to take the car to the dealer so that they can hook up the Hi-Scan. Usually the flashing CK eng lite is something that is emissions related. What yr, make, model is the car?
