Default What oil filter did you put in your Elantra?

I've heard many people say that Mobil 1 is a very good one. But it's $11. Is there a cheaper alternative?

If you change the filter every 3,000 miles, it doesn't matter what brand you use. What separates a high quality filter from a low quality filter is how long it will last before it starts to break down and lose effectiveness. A Mobil 1 or K&N filter will probably last through 2 oil changes. I use Fram because I change it with every oil change. My '87 Nissan truck has 410,000 miles on it and I only use Castrol GTX oil and Fram filters.

Frams are known to be some of the worst filters out there. I used to use them until a couple of years ago when the construction of the filters changed. MOBIL 1 filters are some of the best out right now. Check out this study. http://www.dorianyeager.com/oilfilterstudy1.html

Fram's can't be that bad. 410,000 miles and still counting.

As I understand, almost any filter is good if you change your oil every 3,000 miles. But I am planning to go synthetic and extend that interval to 5,000 - 7,000 miles. Did any one do that with Fram filters?
