Default oil filter on 2k1 1.6 Accent

That question about the Elantra filter made me rember. My local Autozone, Kragen, and Pepboys don't have the 2001 1.6 listed in any of their crossreference books. I've been using a Bosch 3312 (if I remember correctly). What are you guys using? Please list the brand and part number if you can remember.

Only Hyundai OEM parts go into my mom's car.

I had similar problem before. Here is what to do:

1. Go to Fram's website and look it up for your vehicle. http://cpgparts.alliedsignal.com/cpg...m/catalog.html

2. Go to http://www.mscdirect.com/

3. In the "Quick Search" field at the top, type "mobil1 filter" and click Go.

4. You should see a list of drop downs -- choose your current filter number from the drop down next to the brand and click View Products. You will see several intercompatible filter brands out there.

I don't trust that site in #1. It lists the 1.6 as a 12 valve SOHC

Thats funny the local autozone & pepboys by me had the info in thier book. Did you check to see if it was an up to date company book? Anyway heres what fits our cars

Fram - PH6607
Purolater - L14459
K&N - HP1004

And if you want to go the extra mile and buy that new suredrain oil change product from fram which actually works pretty cool. Make sure you get the one that says SD-2 on it, they didnt have one for the 2001 but I used the 2000 and it fit perfect for our yr.

I highly recommend the K&N filter. Often, around 2500 miles or so, when I change my oil...it's not nearly as dirty as with the Fram or Mobil filters that I've used in the past.

PS...read post above this one!

My experience anyhow...:bandit::

I don't know if thats a good thing man. I would want it to be somewhat dirty from normal everyday driving...if its clean, its not catching the dirt that could be in the oil aranoid:
