I have 17's on my 2001 Accent hatchback. You will need lower profile tires so they don't rub. I'm pretty sure stock you have 12 or 13 inch wheels. With 14 you should be able to get along just fine.
MOST IMPORTANT THING. Make sure you research the dimensions of the new rims and make sure it isn't an oddball size. Oddball size cost more for rubber and you might show up to a shop with a flat and they don't have what you need.
