Default Re: Head gasket replacement -- Don't really have anything to lose...

Yeah, I had a minor valve click when I bought it, but it wasn't really noticeable. It's like it just got 100 times worse. It does respond to engine revs, and it's coming from underneath the valve cover, so I'm pretty sure it's one of my valves or something. I noticed when I put too much oil in before, which caused the leak, the sound went away almost completely, only to come back once the oil leaked out. What exactly is that lube called? I'm not sure if it would help my problem given the sound of it's supposed severity, but it's worth a shot. It's only coming from maybe one of the valves down under where the oil cap is, so it doesn't sound like anything else is screwed up, maybe just one. Thanks again.

I dunno the name.. what is it... duralube? or something like that.

I have heard good things about something called Lucas Oil. look around for it.

if it is REALLY loud - thats damage to teh valve... and it would likely need replacing.
