Recomendations

I just bought a new S2000 style antenna off ebay, and I noticed the other day that the antenna on my car (stock one) is actually rusted to the antenna mount (black part thats attached to the body). I cant screw it off, and I gave it a good dose of WD40 before trying to crank it off with some pliers. It was a no-go.

So, the only thing that I can think of doing right now is:

1) Just shave the damn thing off completely and re-sell the S2000 antenna

2) Take off the antenna mount, snip off the stock antenna right at the base, and redrill a new hole into the mount.

I would prefer to keep the S2000 antenna, but more than likely its looking like I'm gonna have to shave it all off fully and maybe put a hidden antenna somewhere else. Either that or drill a new hole so I can screw in the s2000 one. :ermm:

Any other ideas?

I would try a better penetrating oil before I called it a no go. WD-40 is pretty good if something's not stuck too hard but you really need something better if it's really stuck hard.

PB blaster the antenna, let it soak, and it should come right out. Be sure to cover up the paint before hand, if you'd like to keep the fender painted. lol

I freaking dosed the hell out of it last night with Liquid Wrench and WD40. Let it sit in for awhile, and the little focker still wouldnt move. So I'm just gonna shave the little bastard off, and get an internal antenna to place inside the hatch.

You could just do what I did. I just used some bolt cutters to cut my stock antenna down to about 12". I used a little black paint to touch up the shiny cut surface. Mine is now much shorter than stock and looks OEM.
