Default transmission problems

Has anyone had problems with the input shaft bearings on the Accents (manual tranny)? On my 01, the input shaft bearing started getting noisy around 90K, so they replaced it, the clutch, and various other transmission parts/bearings/seals under warranty.

Now, at about 110K, it's noisy again:disappointed:... so why's this happening again so soon? And will this be covered by the replacement part warranty, even though it's outside of the normal powertrain warranty? (it was first fixed about 9 months ago)

TIA.

Unfortunately, if you're outside the original warranty, Hyundai will only warrant the parts replaced under warranty for 12K miles/1 year.

wow. those tranny bearings are pretty resilliant. i ran a tranny with no gear oil (dry as a bone) for a good 7,000 miles or more till they finally gave up. the only thing i can think of is that the input shaft is not 100% parallel with the crank, maybe a factory surfacing problem on the bellhousing or the motor? possibly if the engine block was hit hard on the edge the tranny case may not be sitting perfectly flush against the block... i dunno man.

also when they rebuilt it if they didnt properly shim the bearings then it will cause premature wear, but 20k is still a very short lifespan for a dealership rebuild...

and as for warranty i wouldnt know anything about that one lol. :

Yeah, I think I'm SOL as far as the warranty goes... What's going to happen if I continue to drive it like this? Any guesses as to how long it'll last?

I commute about 80 miles a day, and would rather not sink close to $1000 (just guessing) into this one.
