Default Noisy engine after AutoX... tick tick tick tick tick...

I have been noticing that after spirited driving my engine will tick for a while unless I drive it normally for a few minutes after the race.

I have been told that it is the HLA's getting noisy due to poor oiling at the top of the engine...

Has anyone else had this problem before, and if so... How do I fix it.uzzled:

First make sure your not hearing your fuel canister purge valve, that thing is excessively noisy. I've also had one of my relays tapping so that it sounded like the engine. Neways, assuming the noise is coming from your engine when was the last time you changed your oil? Everytime my car is due for an oil change it begins to tick tick tick.... Also what oil are you using? Perhaps a thinner oil would help?

Thro some Lucas oil Stablizer in there, that will help. I dont know if they make better oil pans with baffles in them.

Make sure your using a Hyundai oil filter.. Some aftermarket filters starve the motor of oil because the insides aren't big enough..

DO NOT put lucas oil into a hydraulic cam engine!!! That is the WORST thing you can do!

Lucas Oil is ONLY for mechanically actuated engines and certainly NOT for viscous LSD!

My accents HLAs taped at random for 30k miles then blew out. Got it fixed under warrenty so I dont know how much was envolved in replacing them.

Lucas is one of the worse things you can put in your oil.

That being said, what viscosity and brand oil are you using? How long has it been in there? What oil filter are you using?
