So I have a babied 01 Accent she sits in the garage all winter and only sees nice days so it has 40k on it but was 5 years old in Feburary. So last week it wouldn't shift out of third gear so I took it to the dealer and they said it had two problems some sensor(sorry I don't know the name) and some other part that tranny fluid goes through I think a controller but I may be wrong. So the dealer claims these two parts warrenty expired at the 5 year mark since they are not internal components. So trying not to vent how can a part have tranny fluid flow through it but not be an internal compnent. Also all my warrenty information is in the glove box of the car which I don't have back yet, but I thought it was a 10 year/100,000 mile drivetrain warrenty but I must be wrong and it covers nothing. Am I wrong on the warrenty or do I remember it wonrg I should have looked at it before I took it in. Thanks in advance for the help.

Its a vital part of the trans. Its part of the 100,000 mile warrenty. Thats like saying they wont fix it if an injector dies .. but wait its not in the engine its not covered, or a coil, wtf. The are BSing you.

So I called Hyundai today and they said it is not an internal component of the transmission and since the car is over five years old it is not covered. No amount of complaining seemed to get me any where. So now I am debating filing a complaint with someone, I noticed there is another post on here with the same problem has anyone else had these same problems it may help me in my arguement.

wtf... I wonder what else they wont cover because its not internal. Thats bs. So if an injector dies its not covered?? I really hope they are not skimping out on that 10/100,000 thing now. :dead:

Yea I did a lot of complaing she said after 5 years all that is covered is powertrain. But it is a small list, like CV joint, internal tranny components, internal engine components it really wasn't that much, from the sounds of it if my computer or any sensor go out I am stuck paying which is BS. When I bought the car I thought I wouldn't have to fix anyhting for 100,000 miles but it sounds like everything from here on out is my dime, which is okay but that ruins a major selling point for hyundai the 10year/100,000 mile

The warranty is still great. basicly you can think of your warranty remaining as anythign metal in the engine and tranny, it should include any senors inside the tranny. I find Hyundai owners a little spoiled, they buy a car that treats them well and they do not pay for anythign for a long time and then the first time something isn't under their warranty they cry and whine. No other manufacturer has such a good warranty and yet still people bitch. I am suprised your pulse generators lasted that long.

Sensors aren't internal parts of a transmission or engine so they aren't covered by the 10/100. So injectors and coils aren't inside of the engine either.. So they are covered under the 5/60.. If you would have bought the extended warranty which was available then every thing would have been covered 10/100...
