I understand that i have to take the nut off to get the pulley off, but how do keep the pulley and pump from turning with the nut? I tried incresing the tension on the belt to see if that would stabilize the pulley, but that still is not enough. It just turns and slips on the belt. I do not want to have to remove it. I want to install the obx one from ebay (yes the one I got is splined). I want to be able to get atlest one pulley in today.
Yes I know this post is a little old, however how did you get the splined pulley from eBay? I am going to buy the set from eBay as well, and want to make sure I get the correct ones.

Jam something through the openings on the pulley... then unscrew with a big prybar.
This works best.
On my Tibby, I just hit it with the reverse direction on the impact gun and it came right off. I tried with a ratchet as well but couldn't hold the pulley from spinning. The impact just buzzed it off effortlessly.
