Default 2003 Accent Maintainance for hard driver..

My 03 Accent 3dr has 49,000 miles 5speed on it now..I like to think that I run the car how it should be run.. I'm hard on the gas just about everyday and try not to beat the brakes cuz my rotors need to be turned or replaced.., The only maintainance I've done to the car is:

Front Brake Pads 2 or 3 times

Cleaned K&N Cone Filter 3 times

Changed my oil about about 12-15 times

Replaced 6 tires, rotated fairlly regularly every 10-12k

Added some fuel injector cleaner/gas Treatment about 5-10 times.

Now its starting to stumble when I start it and sound like its loping.. I've never changed the spark plugs or wires., I didn't even inspect any of that stuff yet. Seems like some of my low end power has disappeared. And I probably need a fuel filter too..
What tools do I need to check the timing and adjust it?

Wow.. all this time I thought the spark plugs were underneath the intake manifold for some reason...They're mad easy to get to.., Anyway here are pics of my plugs after practically 50,000 miles.. The stock champion plugs are the best.. lol, I'm gonna go replace the plugs now..

I think you're supposed to change the plugs every 30,000 miles.

part of its plugs/wires. Also check the coils. Mine lost alot of its mid rang and started pining. Got the coils replaced and all was well. Timing should be ok. If its not making noise leave it alone until 60k.

Yeah those coils are different.., not what I expected. I'm used to rotors and caps, Any idea what the coils cost to replace? I just threw new plugs in it and it really doesn't seem to run any different, well maybe I didn't give the computer long enough to adjust to the new autolite platinums i put in it.., Some of the old plugs had a .075 gap on them! LOL..

My preference for plugs with Hyundai's is NGK...

I had to have my coils replaced around the same mileage... I think it was 300 parts/labor? I can't imagine the coils would be more than 200... (The parts website is down right now)...

I had my dealership change them under warrenty.

Parts from www.hyundapartsonline.com 137.78 + shipping (OEM Part, price includes both coils)
and if you can change plugs you should be able to change the coils.

BUT if you want to check them before spending the money

Get a multi meter and set it to ohms. The upside down U looking thing (sorry if that was insulting, not everyone knows how to use those things)

Disconnect the plug wires and the harness going into the bottom of the coil

Measure resistance by putting each end of the mutli into both of the places where the plug wires where attached. Should read 13.0 +- 15%
Do the same but this time measure it at the connectors where the harness plugged in. HMA gave the same resistance value for those connectors as well 13.0 +-15%

If its out of spec hitup that part site... They beat my dealer by half every time I price something and theys ship ultra fast.

Thanks, Sounds easy enough, Do you mean test the resistance by putting each end of the multimeter on the sparkplug wire terminals 1 and 2 of coil pack 1. and the same for the connectors?.. Just making sure before I go get a multimeter, I could check the procedure on hmaservice too I guess, a picture would help alot.

I just tested the resistance and it seems like its in spec.. it might be a little about 13 ohms..but not by more than 15%..I comletely took out the back seat to see if I could change the fuel filter but it turns out its under a plate thats caulked shut.. with no screws..
