Default CEL:P0100- What next?

P0100 ( MAF VAF circuit malfunction) is the code i have on my 2000 Sonata V6 w/ 87K. After I read the code CEL went away ( been 40 miles). car drives O.K maybe a wee bit sluggish(can't really tell, just bought the car). Mileage seems a bit on the downside got only 170miles for half tank.
What am I suppposed to do?
Is there any thing that I can do before I take it to a dealer and get shafted or should I just ignore it?
I need to get emissions done in the next week, so I am a bit concerned.
Experts, thanks for your suggestions.
