Default Seat belt gets wet after rainstorm...

After doing a search on these forms for "seatbelts" and not finding anything related to my issue, I writing this post for some answers.

I'll just like to ask to if anybody else has this problem with thier seatbelt or it's just me.
First, I drive a '97 2dr Accent.
Second, every time it rains or is damp outside the driver side seatbelt is damp and hard to pull. Doesn't happen to passenger side.
Third, I have had the interior panels off before & haven't notice anything unusual.
Also doesn't occur after washing the car, possibly because the water isn't sitting there for long.

I'm thinking either water is coming in from an unrelated area & finding it's way to the seatbelt.
Or the driver side seatbelt is so worn from use that whatever factory coating it had is gone & the fabric is soaking up moisture from the air.

Anybody else experince this issue or are familiar with it?
thanks for any help offered.

I have a similar problem, although it happens to my Bronco. On the Bronco it's a poor weld that cracked above my door where the little "gutter" is on the driver's side. You might check the area on the Accent where the top and sides of the body were fused together for a leak. If it'l like the LC2 there's a black strip there. I would heavily wax the sides of the strip (just gob it on there) so that it's sealed then give it some time to see if the condition improves at all. If it does obviously you're on the right track.
