Default Oil

I have a 1.5 2000 Accent, I checked my oil today before heading to work.
I filled it up just a little since it was right on the lower dot. When I got home I guess all the oil I added went into my catch can.

I don't want to run low on oil or anything, but I also don't want oil coming out my intake.

Or does this mean something is wrong with my engine?

Remove the tube from your intake and buy one of those small 1 1/2"air filters. Problem is that the hose from the engine is normally supposed to suck air in. But under heavy usage (Revving it to 5500 +) the engine ispulling so much that it reverses this flow and sucks oil. I talk to the Hyundai Dealership mechanics and the reasured me that this is what it does. They've had multipy poeple come in with oil on the air filter and oil going into the intake. After 3 months of asking Hyundai Internatinal about it they finally got that answer. Remove the tub from the intake and put a air filter on it.

there's probably an underlying problem.

having a breather on the crankcase nets you a huge emmissions ticket here in ontario.

Hah, mine is rerouted to under the car... where it blows such gasses into the atmosphere. One time a cop asked me where it went and I said "to the exhaust, where I presume it gets burned".

A simple nod of the hat by the officer and a quick look let me off with a "warning".

Dumbass... how can a rubber hose go anywhere NEAR an exhaust, let alone connect to it?

In any case, mine dissapears through there too man... and my recirc hose is the diameter of a good garden hose.
