Default transmission is messed up

i work at sears and i have to drive about 20 miles to get there and back. i normally go a little faster than some people but no to the point where cops would notice it. anyways, i drive home and everythig is perfect as it should be in my '01 hyundai accent GS hatchback, i get home park the car and go into my house. next day, i get in my car to go to work and it starts fine but i notice it is taking a little longer to shift than regular. i figure that it isnt any big problem. start to go on the interstate and i get off the ramp and go to accelorate and my car refuses to shift and it is an automatic so i pull off to the side and turn it off and back on and try again, no luck. i put the car into low and go then manualy push it into 2nd and i get up to 40mph @4000 rpm. check my transmission fluid and it is full. no check engine light at all. only has 67k miles on it. any ideas???

one of the speed sensors is no longer working. That is my guess anyway.
